These photographs were taken on my camping trip at Coyote Lake Harvey Bear Ranch County Parks last year. The park has a lot of wild life, and it was a very good experience to spend a weekend living close to nature. If you wake up early, you would definitely see herds of wild hogs rushing to the lakeside to scavenge for food. Many travels in herds of their own family, and the male is protective when he's traveling with the family and piglets. I actually saw a herd traveling into the grass area near my campsite. As I attempted to get a little closer (still about 20' away) to get a better photo, the male actually stopped and stared at me and was ready to defense his family. As soon as his herd disappeared into the grass, he continued to stare at my direction for a while to ensure that I wasn't following them before rejoining his herd. I'm glad I brought along my Vortex binocular for a better observation. It was a very good experience to see so many wild animals and feel their presence as they scavenge for food near your tent at night. You may see some deers and hogs in closer distance as they began to come out and scavenge at the campsite when most campers had left.
